While Trump Insults Zelenskyy and Urges Ukraine’s Surrender, Russia Gets Off Scott Free and Continues Killing Unarmed Ukrainians 

Russian forces launched systematic, repeated waves of drone and missile strikes on Friday, October 16, targeting critical civilian and energy infrastructure across Ukraine.  

Human Toll & Casualties

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine highlighted that October has proven to be one of the deadliest periods for civilians in years, following record casualty levels verified through September.

Local emergency services reported: 

Fatalities & Injuries: At least 8 to 11 civilian fatalities and over 60 injuries recorded nationwide from direct strikes and falling debris across multiple regions.

Frontline & Regional Strikes: Dnipropetrovsk region sustained heavy artillery and drone strikes, with casualties reported in Pavlohrad, Kamianske, and Kryvyi Rih. Strikes in eastern and central Ukraine added to the casualty toll as rescue operations concluded.

Infrastructure & Grid Damage

Mass strike barrages targeted critical energy infrastructure across multiple regions. Over 1 million people temporarily lost electrical power across western regions (including Rivne and surrounding districts). Energy restoration crews managed to bring power back online for large portions of the affected areas later in the day. 

Ukraine's Ministry of Energy reported targeted attacks on energy facilities in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and five additional regions including Kharkiv, Rivne, Volyn, and Odesa.

Power Disruptions: The strikes triggered emergency power cutoffs and grid stabilization outages. Energy crews worked throughout the day to restore power supply to over 1 million affected consumers as repair operations continued wherever safe. 

Civilian & Commercial Facilities: Drones and missile strikes damaged commercial sites, warehouses, transportation hubs, and residential buildings in Rivne and Kropyvnytskyi.

Sadly, Trump is pursuing an immoral, unethical policy against Ukraine. The phrases that he is  anti-Ukraine and a Putin lackey are rightfully surfacing across the internet.
