After One Deadly Strike on a RR Strike in Dnipro, Next Day The Russians Returned

For the Russians, one deadly strike on the railroad station in Dnipro that killed 15 on October 29 wasn’t enough; they came back for more the next day.

The details of the second strike on October 30 were as follows:

Early Warning & Evacuation

Unlike the previous day's sudden strike, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) received automated threats/warnings in time and issued an immediate evacuation order before the strike landed. Passengers and station staff were moved into the facility's underground shelters.

Impact & Casualties

Physical Damage: The strike ignited a significant fire inside and around the station hub, causing further damage to station structures and nearby railway stock/locomotives.

Casualties: Because the platform and main hall had been evacuated to the underground shelters, casualties were significantly lower than the day before. Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Oleksandr Hanzha confirmed that one woman was injured in the October 30 attack, with no additional fatalities reported from that second strike.

Operational Impact

Ukrainian Railways reported major logistical delays and disruptions for inbound and outbound train routes running through Dnipro as emergency crews worked to extinguish the fires and clear damaged tracks and locomotives.

Ukrzaliznytsia announced an immediate review and overhaul of safety protocols for platforms in high-risk zones, expanding designated underground shelter stay areas to protect passengers during repeated waves.

AIRBORNE STRIKES ACROSS UKRAINE

Reports from October 31 indicate that Russian forces conducted widespread aerial and missile attacks across several Ukrainian regions, resulting in multiple fatalities, tens of injuries, and significant infrastructure damage. This follows a series of lethal strikes earlier in the week, with several cities observing official days of mourning.

Scale of the Strikes & Aerial Attacks

Massive Drone Waves: Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russian forces launched 134 to 168 strike drones overnight and throughout the day. These included standard Shahed drones, jet-powered variants, and decoy drones (such as Gerbera and Parody).

Interceptions & Impacts: Ukrainian air defenses destroyed or suppressed approximately 105 to 122 drones. However, direct strikes or fallen debris were recorded at over 30 locations across the country.

Casualties & Incident Details by Region

Across the country, overnight and daytime attacks resulted in at least 5 fatalities and more than 46 injuries:

Kyiv & Kyiv Oblast:

Ballistic missile and heavy drone strikes targeted the capital and surrounding suburban districts.

At least 1 fatality was confirmed in Kyiv after ballistic missiles struck single-story structures and residential zones. A civilian woman was also injured near Brovary in Kyiv Oblast.

Kharkiv Oblast (Izium & Kharkiv City):

Izium: October 31 was declared an official Day of Mourning in Izium following guided bomb (FAB-500/KAB) strikes targeting public infrastructure. Search and rescue operations confirmed 5 fatalities—specifically staff members at a regional Center for Disease Control facility—and 14 injuries.

Kharkiv City: Drone strikes targeted commercial areas, including a shopping center in the Kyivskyi district, injuring several civilians.

Poltava Oblast (Kremenchuk):

Russian drone and missile strikes hit industrial facilities and residential neighborhoods. Two elderly men were injured in Poltava, following an earlier strike on a residential block in Kremenchuk that killed 3 people.

 Zaporizhzhia & Southern Regions:

FPV drone and artillery strikes targeted public transit and civilian vehicles, causing multiple civilian casualties and power grid damage in localized districts.

Infrastructure & Energy Damage

Grid Strain: Ukrainian energy operators reported a "difficult" situation regarding the regional power grids due to continuous strikes on energy distribution nodes, leading to localized blackouts in eastern and central oblasts.

Civilian Structure Destruction: Residential apartment complexes, commercial shopping nodes, and local administrative facilities sustained significant structural damage from blast waves and fires ignited by fallen drone debris.

In parallel on October 31, Ukrainian forces executed long-range retaliatory strikes using Neptune missiles and drones targeting the Kamensky Combine rocket fuel facility in Russia's Rostov region.
