Russian Cutthroats Push on the Ground but Pace Slows Significantly

Russian forces have continued to make small, high-cost incremental advances on the ground, though military analysts note that their overall offensive pace across the front has slowed significantly.  

The Ukrainian General Staff reported more than 200 combat engagements in 24 hours, with heavy Russian assault activity concentrated around Pokrovsk (over 30 attacks) and the Kostiantynivka sector.

The main areas of ground movement today include: Continued Aerial Strikes: Ukraine remains under heavy pressure from near-daily Russian drone and missile barrages. Moscow has been increasingly deploying high-speed jet-powered drones alongside ballistic missiles to target infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. 

Strikes Inside Russia: Ukrainian long-range strike drones targeted positions inside Russia overnight, including a shooting attempt targeting a Russian serviceman near the Engels strategic bomber base in Saratov.

Overall Situation & Combat Intensity

According to the latest reporting from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 215 combat engagements have been recorded along the frontlines. Russian forces continue high-intensity operations using tactical aviation, guided glide bombs (KABs), and wave attacks of strike drones.

Key Frontline Sectors

Pokrovsk Direction: This remains one of the most intense operational zones. Russian troops have been conducting assault operations toward Hannivka, Bilytske, Dobropillia, Serhiivka, and Udachne. Ukrainian defense forces continue holding lines against attempts to breach defenses.

Kostiantynivka & Sloviansk Sectors: Increased assault activity has been reported surrounding Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Novoselivka, and near Kryva Luka.

Kupiansk & Lyman Directions: Russian units are attempting to push toward Kovsharivka, Hlushkivka, Drobysheve, and Lyman to disrupt key supply nodes. Ukrainian forces have repelled multiple attacks to prevent tactical advances.

Southern Front (Orikhiv & Huliaipole): Limited assault attempts were recorded around Novoandriivka, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, and Vozdvyzhivka, with no significant structural changes in territory.

Slobozhanshchyna & Border Regions: Sumy and Kharkiv border areas continue to face systematic artillery shelling and tactical airstrikes launched from adjacent Russian territory.

Air Strikes & Electronic Warfare

Unmanned Systems: Russian forces continue deploying modified high-speed and jet-powered attack drones alongside standard Shahed-type UAVs to increase pressure on air defense networks.

Satellite Communications & Countermeasures: Technical analysis highlights ongoing capabilities trade-offs in satellite communications and electronic warfare (EW), including counters against Russian low-orbit satellite communication tests (Rassvet) and ground relay stations.
