Russia Destroyed Its ‘Fine’ Reputation by Killing an Infant, a Child, and Mothers
While political rhetoric in Washington claims that Russia "has been fine on Ukraine" and "hasn't been doing much," the reality written in blood on the ground tells a brutally different story. On the very same day those words were spoken, a Russian Shahed drone tore into a crowded central park in Nova Vodolaha, killing an infant in a stroller, a young girl, and their mothers—a tragic reminder that whitewashing an ongoing invasion isn't just false, but a profound insult to the innocent lives being erased.
In the Kharkiv Region, the Nova Vodolaha Central Park, Russian forces launched a drone strike directly into a central park crowded with families. An infant in a stroller was killed on the spot, along with two women. At least 14 other civilians were injured, including seven children who were in the park when the attack occurred.
Prior Recent Tragedy in Zaporizhzhia: This follows a devastating strike on Zaporizhzhia where guided aerial bombs tore through residential apartment buildings, killing 17 people—including three young children.
Across the country over the last 24–48 hours, Russian attacks—utilizing cruise missiles, ballistic strikes, and nearly 270 attack drones—inflicted widespread civilian casualties:
Kyiv & Kyiv Oblast: Russian strikes targeted the capital and surrounding region with ballistic missiles and suicide drones. At least two civilians were killed and 14 injured in residential quarters.
Western Regions (Rivne & Volyn): Drones struck western cities overnight. In the Rivne region, several women were wounded when residential infrastructure took direct hits.
Central & Southern Fronts: Shelling and drone strikes across Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa added dozens more to the casualty list.
Over October alone, relentless salvos across Ukraine have killed over 100 civilians and injured more than 400, with children repeatedly suffering the brunt of these strikes.
The physical destruction on the ground spans housing, energy grids, and community spaces:
Energy Grid Emergency: Russia launched 76 attacks against Ukraine's power grid in a single week. Overnight strikes cut off electricity and water supplies across parts of Vinnytsia, Volyn, and Rivne, leaving over 66,000 households without power.
Residential Destruction: In Zubra (Lviv region), drone fragments severely damaged 11 private homes. In Volyn, a drone strike ignited a massive fire that destroyed an industrial facility.
Public & Civil Sites: Strikes shattered schools, healthcare facilities, and public spaces, leaving emergency teams scrambling across multiple oblasts to clear debris and look for survivors.
This daily, terrifying reality on the ground highlights why whitewashing the conflict or claiming Russia is "not doing much" is such a painful insult to those enduring this violence.
It’s fair to wonder now what Trump regards as “Fair” behavior. Ukrainian American voters painfully have a clear image of what Trump and Putin support.
